How We Collect SMS Consent

InkSigils is a studio management platform used by tattoo and piercing studios to manage appointments, clients, and communications. InkSigils collects SMS consent directly from end-user clients through three methods: (1) a web form during booking or account creation, (2) a text keyword where clients text JOIN to the InkSigils toll-free number, and (3) a consent link included in booking confirmation emails.

InkSigils manages the entire opt-in process and routes all messages through its platform. Automated messages (appointment reminders, booking confirmations, aftercare tips) are sent using pre-built templates controlled by InkSigils. Studios can also send conversational messages to opted-in clients through the InkSigils unified inbox. All messages — both automated and conversational — are routed through the InkSigils platform, which enforces opt-out compliance, content policies, and consent verification. Consent is always optional — clients can complete their booking or account creation without opting in to text messages.

Confirm Booking

You can complete your booking without checking the SMS consent box. SMS notifications are entirely optional.

Note: "Ironclad Tattoo Studio" is an example. The actual studio name is dynamically populated based on the studio the client is booking with. Every form displays the specific studio name alongside InkSigils branding.

Create Account

You can create your account without checking either SMS consent box. SMS notifications are entirely optional.

Note: Both checkboxes are unchecked by default. The transactional and marketing consent checkboxes are always separate. Neither is required to create an account or use any InkSigils service.

Text Keyword Opt-In

Clients can also opt in by texting a keyword to the InkSigils toll-free number. Studios may display this keyword in-shop, on business cards, or on social media.

Note: The phone number shown is an example. The actual toll-free number is assigned by InkSigils. The studio name in the auto-reply is dynamically determined based on the keyword configuration.

Email Opt-In

Clients who provide their phone number via email (e.g., in response to a booking confirmation or account setup email) may also opt in to SMS through a link in the email that loads the consent form.

Enable SMS Notifications

SMS notifications are optional. You can manage your appointment without enabling text messages.
